Shotokan karate style

#karate#life

I wanted to remember this because my son practices Shotokan.

Yesterday I talked to his sensei, and he described Shotokan as the most basic, most well-known, "default" karate style — the one most people think of when they hear the word karate. The core idea is a single decisive strike, with the whole training built around making the first strike count.

He jokingly called it "karate for the lazy" — because once you've landed that one clean strike, the fight is over.
